Psalm 91: 2

I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Trust in who God says that He is. Trust and find solace in God's covering, God's nearness and in God's presence. God's got you! Like a bird can expand his wings over a baby chick for protection from the wind and the storm, the baby chick can get comfort and warmth from being under the wings of the father bird, in the same way God can cover you. Go to the secret place with God and let Him cover you.

Psalm 91:4

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

God's Word, God's promises and God's truth is a source of strength and protection, against the darts of doubt from the enemy particularly in wilderness seasons. Cling to God's Word and to God's Promises and believe it to cultivate strong hope and resilient faith amidst the greatest storms of life, and the most severe wilderness experiences. Doubt God's Word and promises, then do not be surprised if you become full of unbelief and lack of trust in God and you throw out the anchor of hope. This then may lead to discontentment and complaining. A distrust of God may lead to disobedience and forfeiting God's favor and blessing. Do we trust God, obey God? Believe God in the wilderness and be like Joshua and Caleb. Or do we distrust God, doubt God, disobey and die in the wilderness like the children of Israel? The test of trust- do we pass the test with flying colors and move on to the next level, or do we fail to trust God in the wilderness?

"....his truth shall be thy shield and buckler"

God's Word is everything especially in a wilderness season. It is a source of strength and protection against the lies of the enemy and the darts of doubt that may flood the mind when the visible appears discouraging in a season of wilderness such as testing and afflictions. Trusting in God's Word, God's presence, God's promises, Who God is, that God's got you--- dispels and is a repellant for fear and equips you up in strong faith and confidence in God.
